A field guide to Dallas

Where we actually go, what we actually like, and why this city is better than you've been told.

Dallas gets described by people who don't live here. Highways, steakhouses, a skyline you drive past on the way to somewhere else. That version of the city exists, but it isn't the one we're interested in.

The Dallas we care about happens at ground level: a parking lot that turns into a market on a Sunday, a bar back room where somebody's playing records they shouldn't own, a rack of clothes that took someone five years to collect. It's a city of people making their own scenes because nobody was going to hand them one.

Where we started

rhomeDOG started with vintage — markets built around sellers who treat clothes like an archive, not inventory. That's still an arm of what we do, and it's still the fastest way to meet the people who make this city interesting.

But a market is just a room full of the right people. Once you have that, you can do almost anything with it: pop-ups, shows, dinners, nights that don't fit a category. That's the project.

What this journal is for

This is where we'll keep the parts of the brand that don't fit on a flyer — guides to the city, spotlights on sellers and makers we work with, and notes from the events after they happen.

If you want any of it in your inbox instead, the list is at the bottom of every page. No spam. Good dog.
